Stéphane, physiotherapist in Libya
Portrait

This is Stéphane’s story: he is a physio in Misrata, in Libya.
Stéphane, the only physiotherapist in MSF’s Libya mission, cares for around 60 detainees in a military prison. He sees patients with complex fractures, deep wounds and amputations. Working in a conflict zone means he needs to be completely neutral, as on the same day he can care for patients from both sides. He finds his work in Libya as more challenging and fulfilling than it was in France. Patients appreciate his care; no one cares about nationality.
